IET's non-repayable contribution program for non-commercial R&D entities — universities, colleges, industry associations, incubators, not-for-profit research organizations. Normally caps at 50% of eligible costs; industry cash or in-kind is usually expected for the remainder. No posted deadline — rolling intake by proposal review. Businesses cannot apply directly but are routinely named partners. Realistic awards run $50K–$300K; the $500K ceiling is rare. Staff at MUN/CNA must be permanent (2+ years). Process is slow — budget 4–6 months from letter of intent to signed agreement.
