Indigenous Screen Office — Story Fund (Production)

Indigenous Screen Office · Indigenous

In plain language

ISO's Story Fund supports Indigenous creators and production companies through the full cycle of development, production, marketing, and distribution across all screen-based platforms (film, TV, web, shorts, feature, documentary, interactive). Production stream opens April 15 and closes May 20, 2026. Development stream opens July 8, 2026. For NL-based Indigenous filmmakers (a small but active community), ISO is the primary distinct envelope — complements, not replaces, Telefilm and NL Film. Narrative sovereignty is a core principle: communities decide how their stories are told. ISO now administers roughly $37M/year including the CMF Indigenous program transferred to ISO in April 2025.
